The design - the result of 20 years of research and development.

The unique features, many of them included at the request of senior instructors like Morio Higaonna and Fumio Demura. Some you will pay extra for elsewhere, others are only available from MEIJIN, and, of course, FREE Japanese name and /or style embroidery (up to a value of $15.00) guaranteed to be correct and sewn with special care, individually, for YOU! Free embroidery is for full (pant and jacket) uniform purchases only.

Basic Specifications
Material: Specially woven 100% cotton canvas .

Cut: Traditional with full length sleeves and pants, drawstring waist.

A few of Meijin PREMIUM BLACK's special features:

•Range of sizes from 3 - 12 with half sizes (3-7).

•Same cut and proportions as Meijin PRO.

• Ventilated underarm gussets.

• Shoulders and waist lined with cotton gauze.

• Hand finished collar with multi-needle stitching and extra reinforcement.

• Reinforced throughout with extra stitching.

• Pants with three tie string loops for security and mcomfort.

• Extra long woven cotton tie string on pans.

• Vamped, double-sewn seams throughout.

• Free customized name or style embroidery (Either your name, which we will translate into Japanese if required FREE, or style from our list of standard designs).

Uniform Sizes
IMPORTANT

If you have owned other premium high quality uniforms, you will find that Meijin sizes are almost identical. If you are upgrading from a lower quality uniform, sizes can vary widely from brand to brand so please check the Meijin chart or call our order desk (818) 889-3856 with your height and weight measurements.

If you would like to be sure, we can ship you an unembroidered uniform to try which you can return to us within 30 days for free embroidery. This costs a little extra as there is a return shipping charge but you will have a uniform that fits you perfectly, and the embroidery is still FREE!

PLEASE NOTE: If the uniform has been embroidered, the label removed or if it appears to have been worn, washed, or soiled even slightly, we can’t exchange it. If returned in exactly the same condition as sent, (including the plastic bag) we will exchange it for you.

How About a Custom Embroidered belt!

We carry traditionally made (sewn) belts in sizes 1.5" & 1.75" wide and many, many colors. We can embroider your name and style, almost anything in fact, and we embroider right through the belt so no stitching obscures the design. We sew with "gyosho" style Japanese calligraphy which is very beautiful and unique to our company.

Cotton tenugui (手拭い), literally “hand wipes,” were introduced during the Edo Period (1603-1868), and became one of the “Seven Essential” items for Japanese travelers, and martial artists.

Ours are limited edition exclusive designs made in Japan by dyeing (not printing) 100% cotton gauze (momen) by hand. To suit international karate exponents, they are 7” longer (14” x 39”) than the standard Japansese size.

The first in the series bears the characters, Hyaku Ren Jitoku, literally “hundred practice self benefit,” a favorite saying of the late swordmaster, Taizaburo Nakamura, or if you prefer, “practice makes perfect”. Supplied in a plastic bag printed with a “noshi” greetings.
